Playbook: Denver Broncos
Formation: I-Form Tight Twins
Play: PA TE Corner
Setup:
- Hot route your X/square receiver to a streak
Reads:
- Your primary read on this play is always going to be your B/circle receiver over the middle
- If he is covered, look to your tight end on the corner route or your fullback in the flat
Overview: This is our base play from this formation. It attacks the deep middle part of the field which should open up the sidelines and shallow middle that we are going to focus on with other plays inside the I-Form Tight Twins formation.
Playbook: Denver Broncos
Formation: I-Form Tight Twins
Play: Stretch
Setup:
- Motion your receiver on the outside to the right
Overview: You will have really good blocking with this play and the potential for a big gain every time you run it. You may want to have a good run blocking receiver or backup tight end subbed in as the guy who you motion for even better blocking. Call this play until your opponent shows you that he can stop it.
Playbook: Denver Broncos
Formation: I-Form Tight Twins
Play: Mesh
Setup:
- Hot route your fullback to a streak route and motion him to the right
Reads:
- Your first read is the X/square receiver
- If he is covered, look to your tight end on the drag route to the other side
- Your B/circle receiver on the corner route can get open as well
Overview: This play may not look like much but it can destroy both man and zone defenses. It is more effective if you have a speedy receiver subbed in at the X/square receiver position.
Playbook: Denver Broncos
Formation: I-Form Tight Twins
Play: Bench
Setup:
- Put your running back on a streak route and motion him to the left
- (Optional) Smart route your B/circle receiver
Reads:
- Your first look on this play is your B/circle receiver on the corner route
- Your tight end may also come open on the streak route
Overview: Make sure to have a good receiver in the B/circle position. The receiver may get hit while trying to catch the ball so if you have a bad receiver out there he will drop some balls that would otherwise normally be caught.
Playbook: Denver Broncos
Formation: I-Form Tight Twins
Play: PA Cross F Wheel
Setup:
- Hot route your B/circle receiver to a slant route
- Hot route your running running back to a streak route and motion him to the left
Reads:
- Against zone, look to your fullback in the flat
- Against man to man defense, throw to your B/circle receiver on the slant once he comes open.
Overview: This play does take some timing but it is really consistent once you practice it.
Playbook: Denver Broncos
Formation: I-Form Tight Twins
Play: Flanker Drive
Setup:
- Hot route your running back to a swing to the right
- Motion your X/square receiver to the right
Reads:
- You should be looking to your X/square receiver on the drag the whole way
Overview: This play is extremely effective when mixed in after you call the Stretch running play from this formation a few times.
Quick mention: On the “Flanker Drive”, the swing route that the RB is hot routed into is also an option. If you have a good RB, it’s one man to beat most times..
Great addition Herk! Thanks for that.
Hey first off thanks for doing these, third year in a row I’m a madden school member. Just a heads up, in “Bench” your second read is the TE on a streak route although I dont think that route is considered a streak route, unless i’m just missing an audible. And “Flanker Drive” the second audible is worded oddly and might be confusing if you don’t watch the video. You’re motioning your X receiver to the RIGHT. the starting positioning is just the left most receiver. Keep up the great work ill be madden school member as long as im playing the game
Also for “Flanker Drive” in the Reads section you say you should be looking to your B receiver the whole time. but in the video you say look to the X receiver.
Thank you so much for pointing this all out. It is much appreciated. Sometimes these things slip through the cracks and it is extremely helpful that you can caught those oversights.
I am absolutely dominating with this formation!!! #MoneyWellSpent
Are there any west coast schemes in this play book? I realized I was always effective on offense when I progress through my reads from the Rbs, to the Te, then the WRs. When I start off looking deep, I tend to get sacked, or try to force the ball. Short, middle, then deep works for me. Like I’m doing okay with these plays but on the cross F wheel, I practically never throw an interception because of the progression
Is the Denver Playbook the only playbook that has this formation available?
Questions is this a high point throw or a regular throw pass lead at all?
For which play?
I was doing awesome with this against Denver in second half of game (All Pro but using Flazko realism sliders) until Julio dropped 4 straight passes and I had a turnover on downs ;/
